Passport and Visa
Passport
The program is open to U.S. students and students from other countries that have a visa treaty with Japan. You may only need a valid passport to study in Japan through KCP. Under the U.S.–Japan visa exemption agreement, U.S. citizens can study in Japan for up to 90 days (one semester or less) without a student visa. Passport applications and details are available through the U.S. Department of State.
Citizens of other countries may have different requirements for entry; check with your Japanese Consulate.
For help understanding Japan’s visa policy, see Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

If you’re looking for an intensive course, then KCP is the place to go! Although it was hard work, it was also a lot of fun and I’m very pleased with my current language skill – and I’ve only just finished Level 1! Going out with the class for a final dinner really showed me how much we’d learnt as we had no problems in conveying our feelings even though our only common language was Japanese. I’d come back in a heartbeat.
