Can all student years study abroad?

Yes. KCP International Japanese Language School welcomes full-time undergraduate students from all years and majors, as well as graduate and post-graduate students and adult professionals. KCP is open to U.S. students and students from other countries that have a visa agreement with Japan.

Your ability to study abroad through your home college or university, however, may depend on your school’s requirements.

Can Freshmen and Sophomores Study Abroad at KCP?

KCP does not restrict undergraduate participation based on college year. However, many colleges and universities require students to reach junior or senior standing before approving study abroad.

If you’re considering KCP earlier in your college career, check with your academic advisor or study abroad office to confirm your school’s requirements for program approval, transfer credit, and financial aid.

Can Juniors and Seniors Study Abroad at KCP?

Yes. Juniors and seniors are welcome to study at KCP, and this is also when many colleges and universities allow or encourage students to participate in study abroad programs.

Students can use their time at KCP to build their Japanese language skills, experience living and studying in Tokyo, and potentially earn academic credit toward their degree, depending on their home institution’s policies.

Is KCP Open to Graduate Students and Adult Learners?

Yes. KCP also welcomes graduate and post-graduate students, adult professionals, and other serious learners seeking intensive Japanese language study.

Students at KCP come from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds, with a shared goal of improving their Japanese through an immersive learning experience in Tokyo.
