Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?
I enjoyed doing the school events that really pushed for the class to be close, such as the barbecue or the sports festival.
What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?
I found being able to just sit down and chat with the many teachers and other students during break times to be both incredibly interesting and a great chance to work on my own language abilities.
What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?
Although time consuming, having to write my own sentences and present my own ideas was by far the most helpful and impactful activity. Whether there was a provided outline or not, writing and then getting feedback from the teacher made for very good practice.
Any suggestions for improving class activities or materials?
I think a slightly increased focus on increasing vocabulary might prove useful during the middle levels, instead of mainly grammar.
What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?
Being able to see and visit places I likely never would have known about or considered going to was very interesting.
Anything you especially liked in the living arrangements? Any problems you experienced?
I really appreciated the constantly available support from the management and school. The dorm manager was also very nice, and I really enjoyed him inviting us out to get dinner together.
