Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?
The Tea Ceremony was very interesting and informative. Having the opportunity to be shown, taught and participate was amazing!
Why did you select this program?
It was one of the first few programs to show up in various websites. The price made it incredibly favorable as well as the program's accreditation through the University of Idaho. Not to mention the wide variety in housing options!

The most productive was the amount of Kanji learned especially in the level 4 and 5 classes. My reading comprehension improved dramatically! I felt that the conversation practice in level lacked, but that's really my only complaint with the curriculum.
What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?
Drill practice! I studied grammar by writing my own examples and having my teacher correct them. The same with Kanji. I drilled by rewriting each character and word until I memorized it.
Any suggestions for improving class activities or materials?
I think the school should invite more Japanese people for conversation practice! I personally think that would make an excellent additional option for the US program's co-curricular.
Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?
If you're serious about learning Japanese and that's your main focus, go for it! The price, the wide variety of housing options give you so many choices on how you want to experience Japan. If you're struggling, never hesitate to contact your US program advisers. They seriously go out of your way to help you. I had issues from trying to figure out JP Post to receiving important letters about National Health Insurance and they helped every single time. To top it all off, you can receive an official grade report from accredited US schools so if you plan to continue into higher education, this program will count all the way.
Any other comments or suggestions?
My only suggestion was adding more opportunities to speak with Japanese people and have more connections to volunteer or seek part time work.
