I liked the moments in class, during homework check or like in the breaks, that I was able to talk to my classmates. One of my most favorite things.

The teachers are especially caring and attentive to my progress, and I appreciate their commitment and enthusiasm in teaching Japanese. On top of this, the US program events like Odawara and Natural Disaster Center field trip were especially fruitful.

I found it very helpful to have us practice as a class and then reinforce it by doing it in pairs. The English Support materials were also incredibly helpful as well for being able to practice what we had learned in class.

Pair work was the most helpful I think, the ability to practice conversation with another learner and mutually help each other, as well as growing more comfortable speaking to my classmates was a very positive part of the program.

The focus on conversation was great for improving my speaking skills.

The most productive is during class time and Japanese conversation practice. I can’t think of a least productive one.

Pair work, drills and tests were helpful for me. Drilling really instilled what we had just learned, pair work was helping in creating natural Japanese conversations, and tests showed where my weak points were.

Reading club gave me an opportunity to work on reading comprehension, which was an area I was severely lacking going into the program.

The time I got to spend with classmates was the most interesting part. I used a lot of the Japanese I learned.

The high school exchange event was very interesting and it was very fun to talk to high schoolers and see what they were interested in about the outside world.
